Virtual Sessions
Virtual Physiotherapy
How does virtual Physiotherapy work?
How does a video consultation and treatment work?
Incredibly similar to our ‘in clinic’ service, our aim is to empower and educate you and to allow you to feel great and achieve your goals.
The majority of our degree training as Physios is in observational skills; watching how you move (assessing your range of motion), which muscles you use (how strong you are in certain areas) and analysing the order in which your body synthesises your moves.
Secondly, we rely on the information you give us: the ‘mechanism of injury’ this often gives us all we need to know in order to make a solid diagnosis, as injuries quickly fall into diagnostic categories for us.
Once we have made a diagnosis with you we will outline our recommended plan of attack to get you feeling great as fast as possible.
We will create a bespoke exercise programme for you and you will have access to the pictures and videos via the Physiotec app or on a desktop.
You will have access to us via email and we can help you along the way with any questions you may have.
How does virtual Physiotherapy work?
It may be useful to have:
A foam roller (rolling pin/ barbell / frozen plastic bottle),
A massage ball (tennis ball / cricket ball),
An exercise band (pair of tights/ weights/ can of beans/ small dog)
But none of this is necessary.
What symptoms can we best treat virtually?
Many conditions are best treated ‘hands off’ to get the optimum long-term outcomes for example:
- Low back pain
- Neck and upper back pain / stiffness
- Sciatic Pain
- Knee pain
- Sport related injuries
- Shoulder pain
Virtual Pilates
What is a Virtual Physio:Pilates 1:1 session?
What To Expect From a Virtual Dynamic Pilates 1:1?
What to Expect from a Virtual Dynamic Pilates Class?
Even the Doctors have been recommending that in order to stay healthy during the enforced time at home that you unplug for an hour a day and exercise!
During our classes do not expect just a teacher show… it is more than that! You will delve into a Pilates routine with like-minded people following the instructor’s steps and detailed cues, with individualised feedback where necessary.
Feel part of a community virtually – FOR NOW!
Our Pilates classes are perfect for you at home during this time.
We encourage you to:
Push the work to one side,
Lock the kids (and the dog!) out of the room,
Set the lighting dim,
Get the right tunes on
And give yourself some you time with our expert certified Pilates instructors.
The sessions will take place via Zoom: https://zoom.us/ But we will send you all the information that you need an hour before the class. You will need either a smart phone / tablet or laptop with a camera and the internet to take part.
Try to make sure that you have enough space for a mat and to stretch your arms and legs.
It is often useful to have a ledge or a stool nearby in case you need help with balance in some standing exercises and if you have any weights or bands, your instructor can show you how to use them (to add a little Reform Physio spice!)
Why is this different to personal training?
Do I need to bring anything?
