Reformer Pilates FAQ
What is the difference between Pilates and Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is a clinical healthcare profession focused on diagnosing and treating specific injuries or musculoskeletal conditions through biomechanical assessments. Pilates is a movement system designed to improve core strength, flexibility, and posture. At Reform, we offer “Physio-led Pilates” for those requiring clinical modification, and “Dynamic Reformer Pilates” for those looking to progress their fitness or aid long-term recovery.
Do you offer classes for beginners?
Yes. Our small-group Reformer Pilates classes (maximum of 5 participants) are ideal for beginners. Our expertly trained instructors provide precise hands-on guidance, offering “regressions” to simplify movements for newcomers and “progressions” as you get stronger, ensuring a safe and effective entry into Pilates.
What are the primary benefits of Pilates?
The primary benefits include improved core stability, increased flexibility, and better postural alignment. It is an effective low-impact workout that aids injury prevention, enhances muscle tone, and supports long-term rehabilitation. Our dynamic choreographed sessions are designed to help you move better and feel stronger in your daily life.
What is the age requirement for joining a Pilates class?
Our classes are designed for adults of all ages looking to improve their physical health. Whether you are using Pilates for injury recovery, prenatal support, or general fitness in later life, our sessions are adaptable to your needs. If you have specific age-related concerns or are under 18, we recommend contacting the clinic directly to discuss the most appropriate session for you.
