Hazel Chan
Chartered Physiotherapist
MCSP, HCPC – PH143008
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Hazel graduated from the University of Birmingham, followed by completing her MSc in Physiotherapy at the University of East Anglia. During her time at university, Hazel also gained qualifications in sports taping and strapping, which have enhanced her ability to support athletes and individuals with musculoskeletal needs.
Growing up in a multicultural city, Hazel is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, allowing her to connect with a diverse range of people. Additionally, Hazel was diagnosed with asthma from a young age, which encouraged her to begin swimming at the age of three and she quickly realised the profound benefits of exercise on overall health. This early experience ignited her lifelong interest in physical activity, rehabilitation, and fitness.
Hazel’s engagement with Pilates deepened her understanding of how it activates both large and small muscle groups, improving strength, flexibility, and body awareness. This inspired her to complete her APPI mat Pilates training, allowing her to incorporate Pilates as a tool for injury prevention and recovery. It has further enriched her understanding of the body’s mechanics and how to enhance mobility, function, and well-being.
Hazel is currently working in the NHS alongside her role at Reform. She treats a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and joint-related pain and injuries. Hazel enjoys working closely with patients to create tailored rehabilitation programmes that not only address pain and injury but also aim to improve long-term mobility and function. This approach combines manual therapy, exercise prescription, and patient education, empowering individuals to take an active role in their recovery.
Hazel believes in the transformative power of movement and its ability to improve quality of life, and she is passionate about helping her patients achieve their full physical potential, whether they are recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or improving overall fitness.
